Homecare

What is homecare?

Homecare services provide support and assistance to individuals who need help with daily activities while they remain in the comfort of their own homes. These services are designed to help people maintain a level of independence, dignity, and quality of life when they may be struggling with age-related challenges, disabilities, illness, or recovery from an operation or illness. Homecare is all about providing the support an individual might need whilst recognising the importance of being at home as a place of comfort and security.

Homecare can cover a range of support which is designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals and their families. These services can be temporary, such as assistance during recovery from surgery, or long-term support for managing chronic conditions or age-related needs. The flexibility of homecare allows for personalised care plans that can be adjusted as needs change over time.

How we deliver homecare at Belmont Healthcare

Our homecare service complements our residential and nursing care services by working with people earlier in their care journey to offer true person-centred support. Designed to be flexible, our team of skilled carers are chosen based on their life experience, personality and expertise to ensure they are well placed to support you to live longer in your home.

Your homecare team:

When you use our homecare service, you get access to a small team of carers who are specifically chosen so they are the right fit for you and your support needs. And we will introduce the care team to you before we start providing support to ensure you never have a stranger knocking on your door. We also choose not to wear uniforms as we believe privacy and dignity are paramount, and not everybody wants to share with their neighbours that they are receiving support or assistance. If you would prefer our team of Home Support assistants to wear a uniform, that too can be arranged, just let us know. Our ethos is based on relationship building, care and trust. It is vital to support you in a way that is important to you.

We are proud to be a ‘Top 20 Rated Home Care Provider in the West Midlands.’ Thanks to our dedicated team and supportive community, we’re committed to continuing our high standard of care. Your trust is our greatest award.

Flexible support that changes as your needs do:

We believe care should adapt to your needs, mood, and aspirations, so we offer flexible packages, including a more traditional homecare style package or a monthly package that can include a set of agreed-upon outcomes with several weekly visits. Both options are designed to flex and change to meet your needs. We provide a minimum of 30-minute visits as we believe quality assistance and companionship cannot be delivered in less time than this.

This support can be reduced over time following regular reviews of achieved goals and aspirations. We can work alongside medical professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists to ensure continuity and a truly holistic support plan.

Our homecare support and services can cover:

  • Personal care
  • Light housework
  • Companionship
  • Meal preparation
  • Pet care
  • Organising social activities
  • Escort and transport to appointments
  • Support following a stay in hospital and create a re-enablement plan
  • Help with technology, such as setting up video calls to family
  • …and much more

We can also manage 24-hour Assistive Technology systems to ensure your health, safety, and well-being with minimal intrusion. This enables us to remotely decide if you require a wellbeing phone call or visit.

Using technology to support our service:

To support your care needs, we utilise an App called ‘OOMPH’ which enables our team to engage and support you to participate in activities to stimulate the mind or body, with access to exercise sessions (chair or standing) to help support muscle tone and mobility.

Getting started:

An in-depth assessment is completed by one of our trusted assessors to create your personal care plan, detailing how you wish to be supported. We gather information specific to your support needs, lifestyle, family, likes and dislikes. We work with you to capture your goals and aspirations and, together, we agree on how we can best meet these. This person-centred approach ensures you are always at the heart of everything we do. The support is reviewed regularly with a minimum of 4 interactions a year to ensure any changes are reflected in your support plan.

Delivering homecare services wherever you are:

Our homecare services provide support to individuals and families across the Midlands region. If you are looking for support and you are not based in the Midlands, we are able to support you through our partnership with ilarna, a leading provider of homecare services across the UK.

Homecare FAQs

Belmont at Home care services flex to each individual’s needs and requirements, working to your timetable and plans. Tailored to the individual, we offer personal care, organisation of social activities, attending to daily admin, housekeeping and preparing meals, or acting as a chaperone to appointments. We also provide much more specialised support for individuals living with Dementia, Parkinson’s or cancer.

Belmont at Home care services work to an agreed monthly package and fee with an agreed set of outcomes to a set number of weekly visits. This plan can flex and change, adapting to individual need, mood, and daily or weekly plans

None, our costs are discussed and approved upfront before we start to deliver care, and it won’t change unless you need more or less of our service.

Belmont at Home care services are not rushed. Every individual will benefit from the care team’s time, attention, and care. No rushed visits, no clock watching, just time for dedicated personal service.

All our care team is vetted through a rigorous selection process and the national system called a Disclosure and Barring Service check. In addition, we also seek references and honest conversations with previous employers to ensure they meet our strict standards.

You will never have a stranger knocking on your door. Your safety is paramount, which is why we build a small care team around you who are the perfect fit for each individual and the care and support required. They will always be recognisable to the individual and properly introduced.

We will always start as quickly as possible. However, before that can happen, we will need to conduct an in-depth assessment. The assessment helps us understand more about the individual and the requirements of care and support needed. This also helps us assign the perfect carer for the role.
