It is important to us that our residents can continue to enjoy the activities and lifestyle they had and have the opportunity to experience new activities and interests with the support of our inclusive community setting.

Our homes offer a wide variety of activities, clubs and lifestyle choices that are tailored to individual needs. Residents are free to choose as many as they wish or not as their preference may be.

Our Care Team ensure that regular favourites are punctuated with new experiences, so throughout the week there are always things to do. Activities can vary from a relaxing afternoon tea and arts and crafts, to gardening, cooking, exercise classes, a visit from the local farm, or outings to local places of interest.

Every year residents are invited to take part in preparing our gardens, an activity our residents greatly enjoy. Making it a little easier our gardens are equipped with raised planters ensuring access for all residents no matter their mobility or frailty.

Most of our care homes offer a range of beautifully designed facilities that enable residents to maintain those important routines and interests they have always enjoyed. Within our inclusive and supportive environments residents can maintain that weekly hair and nail appointment they cherish in one of our hair salons, relax and sooth away any aches and pains in one of our luxurious therapy rooms, and enjoy those old favourite films in one of our state-of-the-art cinemas. Some of our homes even have a corner shop so that residents can still collect the morning paper. Residents and their family and friends can also enjoy fresh coffee and homemade cakes in one of our friendly, vibrant cafe’s.

Dementia Clinic

Belmont Healthcare – Dementia Clinic

Belmont Healthcare was established in 1991 and has built a strong reputation in Kent and East Sussex for offering quality residential care for those with Dementia. Since then additional services have been developed to help widen the reach and scope of service provision to run in-line with local authorities plan to improve their continuity of care.

Existing and new services users can now gain access to a dementia clinic on a monthly basis. The clinic offers support to carers and family members who want to gain a better understanding and support for their loved ones with dementia. The clinic provides a confidential environment in which to discuss concerns, queries, experiences or just a listening ear, which for many can provide that much needed life-line during a difficult times.

The clinics are followed up with outcomes and evaluations for each individual using proven techniques inline with our in house Dementia Consultant, Pat Brown. The clinic helps with engagement and communication through items such as “This is your life book” which has had a profound effect.

This clinic is then followed up with a six week reminiscence group programme taking in the initial findings from the clinic in a shared like minded environment.

I found the clinic you kindly organised very valuable. I even felt I would benefit from another session as time passed so quickly when trying to cover such an emotional subject, it’s only after the event you realise there are so many other things you would like to discuss, so valuable and supportive, Many thanks to you and your service”
