Perfectly positioned near the seafront in the charming residential area of Littlestone, New Romney, Madeira Lodge is a 28 bed residential care home providing care for those with dementia and related illnesses.
Proving specialist nursing, respite and personal care for the elderly, the home operates a home from home philosophy that enables individual independence, encouraging engagement in all aspects of home life.
The home benefits from plenty of space. With living quarters set across two floors, the advantage of a lift ensures individuals can move freely and safely throughout the home.
Communal spaces offer plenty of options, from a large main lounge for socialising to quieter and smaller lounge areas for reading or relaxing. A bright and modern dining area is the perfect space for a snack or a main meal, and the conservatory brings the outside in when it isn’t quite warm enough to venture out.
To the rear of the building is a perfectly maintained and enclosed garden that provides plenty of space for pottering, relaxation, watching and engaging with nature.
The home also benefits from an extensive sensory garden. Packed full of flowers, shrubs and herbs, with a Koi pond centrepiece, the garden has been designed to stimulate and engage the senses.
Sarah has been working at Madeira Lodge for 21 years and has been the Home Manager for 6 years. She has achieved her Level 2, 3 & 5 NVQ qualifications and has completed extensive training in many fields including Mental Health.
When she’s not working, Sarah enjoys walking her two labradors, spending time with family and helping people in the community. Her Grandad, who lived at Madeira Lodge, had dementia so helping others living with dementia is very close to her heart. She volunteers at a local dementia cafe, helps people in the community with their washing etc & has partnered Madeira Lodge with their local Secondary School to provide after school clubs at the home for students wanting to learn about dementia. Sarah also has a great love for donkeys!
At Belmont Healthcare we have a transparent fee structure which is based on our needs assessment of each individual - prices vary based on this and who is the funding partner whether this is through private means, therefore, agreed directly or through the Local Authority which agreed through our framework contracts with each party (please see our FAQs page for more support on funding).

My experience of Maderia Lodge is just 1st class. My wife receives very good attention and staff attend to her needs with love, care and concern, and comfort where needed. Visits to the hospitals and doctors are traumatic for dementia residents when this has been necessary a member of staff goes with her giving reassurance. Both manager and staff give me and the family confidence she is in a very caring home and it helps us come to terms with the illness. Thank you Maderia Lodge.
The staff at Madeira Lodge are absolutely amazing, I cannot fault any of them. They kept us informed of every step of her journey. They made sure my mother was as comfortable as she could be. The night staff that were on duty at the time of my mother's passing were so kind and compassionate. They are a real credit to the management, they have been trained well. I personally could not do their job. We spent two nights at Madeira Lodge. The manager and deputy manager could not have been more accommodating, allowing family members who had travelled a long way to take showers and a place to sleep.
