About Madeira Lodge

The seafront setting of Madeira Lodge is an oasis of peace and calm, and with far reaching views of the sea from most windows; it is the perfect retreat for those requiring 24 hour elderly care.

Proving specialist nursing, respite and personal care for the elderly, the home operates a home from home philosophy that enables individual independence, encouraging engagement in all aspects of home life.

The home benefits from plenty of space. With living quarters set across two floors, the advantage of a lift ensures individuals can move freely and safely throughout the home.

Communal spaces offer plenty of options, from a large main lounge for socialising to quieter and smaller lounge areas for reading or relaxing. A bright and modern dining area is the perfect space for a snack or a main meal, and the conservatory brings the outside in when it isn’t quite warm enough to venture out.

To the rear of the building is a perfectly maintained and enclosed garden that provides plenty of space for pottering, relaxation, watching and engaging with nature.

The home also benefits from an extensive sensory garden. Packed full of flowers, shrubs and herbs, with a Koi pond centrepiece, the garden has been designed to stimulate and engage the senses.

Sarah also has a great love for donkeys!

What people say

  • My experience of Maderia Lodge is just 1st class. My wife receives very good attention and staff attend to her needs with love, care and concern, and comfort where needed. Visits to the hospitals and doctors are traumatic for dementia residents when this has been necessary a member of staff goes with her giving reassurance. Both manager and staff give me and the family confidence she is in a very caring home and it helps us come to terms with the illness. Thank you Maderia Lodge.

  • The staff at Madeira Lodge are absolutely amazing, I cannot fault any of them. They kept us informed of every step of her journey. They made sure my mother was as comfortable as she could be. The night staff that were on duty at the time of my mother's passing were so kind and compassionate. They are a real credit to the management, they have been trained well. I personally could not do their job. We spent two nights at Madeira Lodge. The manager and deputy manager could not have been more accommodating, allowing family members who had travelled a long way to take showers and a place to sleep.
