Cooking activity benefits everyone

It’s all about collaboration when it comes to making a warming and comforting bowl of soup that everyone can benefit from on a winter’s day.

Not shy of rolling up their sleeves, Haslington Lodge Care Home set-to and peeled and prepared potatoes, leeks, and carrots for a hearty winter soup for the whole home to enjoy.

Tracey Crittenden, Activities Coordinator at Haslington Lodge Care Home says: “Getting involved in the daily activities of the care home is all part of home life. It provides a purpose to the day, encourages socialising and discussion, and provides a sense of achievement. Of course, the end results were magnificent, what a healthy bowl it was, full of vitamins and such a comforting eat.”
