Healthy food becomes fun to explore

Remember being told not to play with your food? Well that’s exactly what Haslington Lodge Care Home did when making a healthy and very refreshing snack.

With soaring temperatures, and the general summer heat, the Haslington Lodge kitchen has been very mindful of making sure everyone stays hydrated in an appealing and fun way.

Bringing joy to food and refreshments the care team decided to create a fun activity making fruit skewers and vegetable flowers, all edible, tasty, and refreshing.

Adam Hutchison, Managing Director at Belmont healthcare says: “The weather has certainly created a lot of creativity in the kitchen and fruit kebabs seems like the ideal solution to staying perfectly hydrated.

Belmont Healthcare offers multiple forms of long or short, respite and day care, or at home care for those in need of support.  Specialising in enhanced care and support of older people, care is also offered for those living with Dementia and other life changing conditions such as Parkinson’s disease.
