We’re proud to share some fantastic news from our team at Wombwell Hall Care Home: following a recent unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the home has been officially rated ‘Good’ across all five key areas – Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-Led.
This recognition is a major milestone for the Northfleet-based home, which is part of the Belmont Healthcare family. With 120 beds, Wombwell Hall is the second-largest care home in North Kent and provides specialist residential nursing and palliative care for individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other complex conditions.
The CQC inspection, conducted over two days in May 2025, highlighted a culture of continuous improvement and learning – with a dedicated team ensuring that residents consistently receive the highest standard of care.
Inspectors noted that care staff had the right skills and experience, which helped residents feel safe, supported, and respected. This good rating comes on the heels of another major development: the recent launch of Wombwell Hall’s £5.5 million dementia care facility, which opened at the end of 2024. The facility introduced 22 modern en-suite rooms and four new suites, further enhancing care provision for those living with dementia.
Speaking about the achievement, Richard Lawson, General Manager of Wombwell Hall, said:
