Introduction
Belmont Healthcare operates a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.
We are committed to acting ethically and ensuring that exploitation is prevented across our services and supply chains.
This statement is published in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our Organisation
Belmont Healthcare provides residential and nursing care services. We operate within a highly regulated environment and align our practices with CQC standards, safeguarding duties and employment legislation.
Safeguarding and Duty of Care
- Modern slavery is treated as a safeguarding concern.
- All concerns are managed through safeguarding procedures and escalated to local authorities where appropriate.
- Incidents are reported in line with regulatory requirements, including CQC notifications where required.
Recruitment and Workforce
- Robust safer recruitment ensures all staff have identity, DBS and right to work checks.
- We only work with reputable agencies and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
Supply Chains
- We assess risks across procurement including agency staff, clinical supplies and services.
- Suppliers must comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and expected ethical standards.
Due Diligence
- Supplier checks are undertaken prior to engagement.
- Contracts require compliance with laws and ethical standards.
Risk Management
- Risks are assessed and monitored regularly.
- We act to reduce risks of exploitation across operations and supply chains.
Training and Awareness
- Staff receive training to recognise indicators of exploitation including abuse, control and restricted freedom.
- Managers ensure staff understand how to report concerns.
Reporting Concerns
- Staff must report concerns to management immediately.
- Whistleblowing procedures protect individuals raising concerns.
- Where there is immediate risk, emergency services are contacted.
Continuous Improvement
- We review our processes and strengthen controls each year.
- We work collaboratively with partners to improve standards.

This statement is approved by Belmont Healthcare senior leadership. It is reviewed annually and updated as required.
