Care home staff get a ppe makeover

Staff at Maderia Lodge care home in New Romney have received a PPE makeover thanks to local interiors specialist Lynne Barnes Interiors, who have donated handmade face masks to the care team.

Adding a bit of style, from the usual clinical face masks, the masks are made from the offcuts of the many designer fabrics used to make exclusive made to measure curtains, blinds and cushions for customers.

Sarah Pennington says “We can’t thank Lynne enough for thinking of us and taking the time to make these really beautiful face masks. We have every conceivable colour and pattern to suit every taste. They really inject a little bit of style and fun into our working day, and I have to say, they are much better than the very clinical face masks we have been wearing. We will certainly treasure them.”

Lynne Barnes has made well over 5,000 masks for local care homes, front line workers, and the William Harvey Hospital, donated freely to help fill the lack of PPE supply in the New Romney area.
