Face to face visits enrich home life

The importance of seeing family and friends face to face can not be underestimated. We are all in some way re-connecting and experiencing this elation as lockdown gradualy relaxes and our ‘bubbles’ chosen.

It’s no different for us here at Edendale Lodge, Haslington Lodge, Madeira and Sandbanks Lodge. Although we have been surrounding ourselves with support from staff and eachother, and our morale has been high, our spirits have recently been lifted by visits from family and friends.

Careful to mitigate risks to our residents and staff from the dangers still very present from COVID-19, our ingeniuos ‘Looking Windows’ have been constantly booked for visiting time slots since we announced their introduction.

Adam Hutchison, managing director at Belmont Healthcare says: ‘We’d like to thank all of those who are taking the time to visit. It is important to have familiar human interaction, especially for those residents with dementia, for who understanding why we have not been able to admit visitors has been hard to make sense of. Thank you for providing us with your reassuring support and big smiles when you visit, we are all looking forward to the day when we can invite you into our homes with open arms.”

Belmont Healthcare offers multiple forms of long, short, respite or day care for those in need, specialising in Dementia, Parkinson’s and Specialist Elderly Support situated in delightful settings around the UK.
