Flowers are the theme for a quick thinking activity

How many flower names can you recall?

Expertly led by the Belmont Healthcare quiz master and activities coordinator, Tracey Quirk, maximum recall was the aim of the activity during a horticultural quiz crossword activity.

Topping the list at 10: Roses, Daffodil, Lavender, Sunflowers, Lilies, Poppies, Tulips, Daisies, Carnations, and Marigolds all made it onto the crossword board in the game designed to test the very best of memories.

Sally Ann Briggs, Registered Manager at Haslington Lodge care home says: “We like to attach meaning to our activities and make them as much fun as we can. Our residents had so much fun remembering the flowers from the gardens of their past. And didn’t they do well? Much better than I would have done under pressure!”
