Craylands Lane Primary School in Swanscombe reach out to residents and staff at Haslington Lodge with positive messages and touching pictures of rainbows of hope.
Prior to lockdown the primary school pupils were regular visitors to the care home. Taking part in craft sessions, singing to residents, helping out, and making friends with residents and staff was all part of what was becoming a routine until lockdown.
Frances Maynard, registered care manager at Haslington Lodge says: “We have always loved to see the generations coming together building friendships and bonds. Of course since the pandemic we are no longer able to carry on as normal in this way. This is why we are all so touched and happy to receive these sweet messages of positivity and love from the children. We are missing them and they us, for now all we can do is stay in touch and continue to support each other with our messages of positivity.”
Haslington Lodge is a specialist 24 hour elderly care and dementia facility where consideration is given to the differing personal needs and requirements of residents’ care needs.
