Pottering around takes a crafting detour

One of the best activities we like to take part in is craft. This week we have been turning our hands to something creative spending time personalising ceramic and wooden items such as plates, cups, hearts, toys and trinkets.

Using our imaginations, and selecting specific paint colours, we experimented with patterns and textures and explored how we could make these simple objects much more appealing and individual.

Liz Tart at Sandbanks Lodge Care Home says: “Creativity is a large part of home life, it provides time to explore and experiment. With this activity residents were able to create something really personal that they could use as an ornament or even gift to a loved one.”

Belmont Healthcare offers multiple forms of long, short, respite or day care for those in need, specialising in care of older person who lives with Dementia, and other life changing conditions such as Parkinson’s disease. Our homes are situated in delightful settings around the UK.
