Reminiscing transports us back to a bygone era

Isn’t it just a perfect scenario to pass the time sitting with friends and talking about the good old days?

That’s exactly what this group of ladies at Madeira Lodge Care Home did with a very glitz and glam theme of entertainment.

Talking about their very favourite entertainers brought back loads of memories of the films they liked to watch and the music they loved to listen to. From the acclaimed Hollywood actor and dancer James Cagney, to Ol' Blue Eyes Frank Sinatra, and the amazing voice of Dame Shirley Bassey, the songs were just there as ear worms reminding everyone of special moments in their lives.

Sarah Pennington, Manager at Madeira Lodge CareHome says: “Talking about old times has so many benefits. From providing that feel good feeling, to engaging in a meaningful conversation with people who understand, it’s such a good way to feel connected and a sense of belonging. We always love to listen when people talk about past memories and experiences, we always learn so much.”
