Staff are priority during mental health awareness week

During Mental Health Awareness Week Edendale Lodge Care Home have transformed an unused room into a staff wellbeing lounge for the care team to have their own space of peace and tranquility.

Recognising that staff need a special space to take time out, to sit in peace, have a cup of coffee and just be, the transformation of an unused room is now a place of quiet contemplation.

Situated within a very quiet spot within the care home, the room features a huge character window, which lets the light stream through, as well as providing views of the surrounding countryside.

Marina Allen, deputy manager at Edendale Lodge says: “It’s a way of saying we really appreciate you and your role, especially after the year our care team has had.  Here staff can spend time away from the demands of their day-to-day roles, even if it’s just for five minutes, and take time for themselves - something most carers don’t get a lot of opportunity to do.”

Belmont Healthcare offers multiple forms of long or short, respite and day care, or at home care for those in need of support. Specialising in enhanced care and support of older people, care is also offered for those living with Dementia and other life changing conditions such as Parkinson’s disease. Our homes are perfectly situated in delightful settings around the UK and provide a very homely atmosphere whilst being safe and secure, making the people we care for feel right at home.
