Tinkle on the ivories brings back memories

Piano playing brings back all the joy of music to Haslington Lodge Care Home as pianist Bill re-connects with a much-loved hobby as he makes Haslington Lodge his home.

Enjoying a foot tap or sing along, Bill is only too happy to use his musical skills to play a good tune to an engaged and appreciative audience.

Tracey Crittenden, Activities Coordinator at Haslington Lodge Care Home says: Bill just loves playing the piano and we like him playing it too. I think the piano needs a good tune but it doesn’t spoil our spontaneous fun, it’s a lovely to have such talent only too willing to entertain us.”

Playing the piano has many benefits, not only does it lighten everyone’s mood by bring back happy memories associated with a particular piece of music, it can ensure fine motor skills are exercised to improve dexterity as well as hand-eye coordination.
